SUBURBAN TECHNOLOGY

In 2WD half-ton models, the Vortec 5.3L engine generates 320 horses, and 4x4 models have 310 horsepwer. The available Vortec 6.0L V8 in half-tons creates 366 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. The Vortec 6.0L V8 in three-quarter-ton models delivers 352 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque.

Active Fuel Management technology from GM allows the engine to deliver power when you need it. In situations where it is not needed, such as cruising down the highway on level roads, Active Fuel Management deactivates four of eight cylinders with seamless precision. When load demands increase, cylinders are reactivated to provide full operation.

E85 FLEXFUEL VORTEC 5.3L ENGINE

Suburban can help give new meaning to living off the land.
E85 FlexFuel vehicles, including select Suburban half-ton models, operate on either unleaded gasoline, or E85--a combination of ethanol and gasoline
Good news, because the ethanol in E85 is a cleaner-burning fuel source made from renewable domestic biomaterial (such as corn), which helps reduce our dependence on petroleum
It also helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions
The E85 FlexFuel Vortec 5300 V8 engine is standard on half-ton 4X4 models and available on half-ton 2WD models
GM has already put 1.5 million E85 FlexFuel vehicles on the road in all 50 states

BEST-IN-CLASS TRAILERING

You could say Suburban was born to tow. Three-quarter-ton models can pull a segment-leading 9,600 lbs., and they also provide best-in-class hauling capabilities.
Half-ton models can tow up to 8,200 lbs.
Both come equipped with Tow/Haul mode and heavy duty trailering equipment that includes a hitch platform with a two-inch receiver and a seven wire harness.
The liftgate offers easy access to a class-leading 137.4 cu. ft. of maximum cargo capacity.
