Dinner or Desert? In traditional engine design, where intake and exhaust cams operate in a perpetual lock step, engineers must compromise between horsepower, which equates to top-end speed, and torque, the force that accelerates you from a stoplight or into an open passing lane.
The engines in both the STS V6 & V8 models-featuring DOHC 4-valve per cylinder heads and low-restriction intake and exhaust manifolds.
The result is an uncompromising flow of horsepower and torque-320 of the former and 315 lb.-ft of the latter for the V8-for a bonus of smooth operation from idle to top end.
